From any window, you can elect to create a limited List window on demand. XTension provides you the ability to create special interest Lists which are used to monitor a subset of any of the units in the database.
A new List will have the same features as the Master List window, in that you can monitor and control any of the items directly in the list, or with the control panel.
You may wish to modify the scripts of a group of units and then watch how they behave. If you have a large number of units in the Master List, it becomes a bother to scroll up and down several times to modify the scripts, and then to watch the changes etc.
You may also want to simply have a short list of sensors and units which you like to keep an eye on.
If you pull down the File Menu and select 'New List', you will be presented with a dialog by which you select the items that you want in the new List window.
This is another good reason to create named Groups in the database. If you select a group in the Master List and then enter Cmd-L, XTension will assume that you want to make a list from the group members, and will begin the New List dialog with those items already chosen.
You may create as many of these Lists as you need.
These windows may be left on the screen, you may send them away, but to delete one you must use the 'Delete List' item in the Lists Menu.
